What better way to celebrate IWD than championing our strong, female entrepreneurs right here in Flagstaff! So if you’re out and about, pop by these amazing local businesses to support our community and these amazing women.

Bright Side Bookshop
Located in the heart of downtown Flagstaff, owner Lisa Lamberson has created a welcoming space for “community, connection, and a civil exchange of ideas.” Lisa and her team take great care in offering an interesting and rich variety of books for all ages. The bookshop is truly a bright light in downtown Flagstaff for locals and visitors who love the written word.

CYCLEBAR
CycleBar Flagstaff lets you rock your ride in an energetic, totally welcoming, inspiring spin studio. Owner Sarah Milos is not just about cycling. CycleBar constantly partners with businesses and organizations for creative mixed events. Cyclebar keeps you spinning, fit and connected to our local community! And it’s always more fun to work out with friends!

OENO WINE LOUNGE
On the corner of Birch and San Francisco streets, OENO makes tasting and drinking a creative and fun experience. Owner Dara Wong (also the owner of Shift restaurant) provides a carefully cultivated and diverse selection of wines and beverages. The beautiful outdoor patio is a dream spot for relaxing, enjoying and people watching Flagstaff. Dara and her team are loved and respected in our community. They host a multitude of events including tastings, industry days, and pet friendly partnerships that elevate Oeno to a new level of lounge enjoyment.

THE DOG WASH
The Dog Wash is a cheerful, well-organized, and fully stocked self-serve dog wash that makes washing and grooming your beloved four-pawed family member easy and fun! Stop in for a quick bath or give your dog the full salon treatment! Everything you need, including treats, is at your fingertips. With two locations and open 24 hours, owner Shannon Gottschammer has created a wonderful environment for every type of dirty dog.

THE TOASTED OWL CAFE
The Toasted Owl Cafe is well-known and loved by Flagstaff locals. First opened in downtown Flagstaff in 2013, owner Cecily now has a second location on the east side, ensuring that all of Flagstaff gets to experience the Owl! Open 7 days a week (except for Christmas and Thanksgiving), the toasted owl has a fabulous selection of really, really good food for all tastes and dietary needs. In fact, lots of media coverage has recognized the Toasted Owl as the best place for breakfast and lunch in Arizona!

FOUNDATIONS PHYSICAL THERAPY
Dr. Colleen Gest, PT, DPT, WCS, the owner of Foundations Physical Therapy and adjunct professor at NAU, is the pelvic guru of Flagstaff and Northern Arizona. She deals with the myriad of pelvic and pelvic floor issues that affect women’s daily lives, some of which become especially pronounced after childbirth, and many of which are overlooked by other physical therapy specialists. Dr. Gest is a much-needed source of relief! Her knowledge and skills help women alleviate pelvic pain, develop healthy muscles and habits, and live their best active, joyful lives!
