Rolling Through Flagstaff with Absolute Bikes
What do the locals say about their favorite biking trails?
Absolute Bikes is one of our fab local bike shops, located right on historic Route 66. They proudly serve all types of cyclists, including new and veteran riders, road and mountain aficionados, and recreation and transportation cyclists.
I visited Absolute Bikes today to ask them about their favorite trails. I also ran into a couple of locals you might know who shared their faves as well.
Lucas Cowen, Inventory Manager
Beginner Trail: Schultz Creek Trail.
Intermediate Trail: Full Sail at the top of Schultz Creek.
Advanced Trail: Meteor Ride.
Lucas had some great information about these trails. Flagstaff Bike Organization received a grant to build Full Sail Trail. It was built by local volunteers and the Forest Service.
Aidan Woloszyn, Mechanic
His faves are Full Sail, Meteor Ride and the Private Reserve on Elden Peak from the Radio Towers.
Sam Simmons, Mechanic
His three favorites are Old Heart Trail, Lost Burrito Trail and Slippery but Fun, which is off of Lost Burrito.
Cece, Lead Salesperson
Her faves are Lower Sunset, off of the Mount Elden Area and Pickup Sticks, Lockett Meadow.
Collectively, Rick, George and Mark's favorite places to road bike are Lake Mary Road, of course, Walnut Canyon and 89a to the Overlook.
